mental attitude of no self profit
News aired from press bureaus of each country that one of the worldwide famous Japanese industrial designer “Ekuan Keiji”＊4 closed his life.It happened just after SASAKI’s interview was finished.He designed with spirit of “benefitting myself and others”.It is a Buddhism word that one trains to attain spiritual enlightenment and devotes oneself to save others.
SASAKI might have this key word on his head when he worked.SASAKI dealt with the work as professional welder raising his consciousness up to the area where he welds with the aesthetic sense, not just working.That is, one thing is benefiting himself where he improves his welding skill and devotes himself to increase his measures, the other is benefiting others where he enhances his skill up to the skill of artisan that moves customers.
It was a rule in his former work that one beats promising person thoroughly.He may have a feeling that was grown in the severe car race world.Stance to pursue the perfect, which was brought in the car race world, not being satisfied with the level that passes shipment condition of welding, pushes SASAKI higher level SASAKI was asked by his boss to become a member of scale model manufacturing of F1 car in “Visualization of techniques” project.
He looks through the design drawings remembering when he was in his 20s.The nature that pursues the aesthetic sense in his mind whispered “I want to make this scale model car similar to real F1 car.”
He could not sit still after thinking so, he soon visited the garage of the racing company of his old home with one of his colleagues INABA. As he was not stay in the frame of weld and promoted his colleagues to make a high completeness of scale model, the scale model will turn out to be closer to the real by changing front suspension.
